ANKARA — Türkiye’s agricultural producer price index declined by 1.99% in September 2026 compared with August, while increasing by 12.93% year on year, according to Turkish Statistical Institute figures released on 14 October.
The index was 7.03% above its December level, and the increase based on 12-month averages stood at 30.64%. Monthly movements differed across product groups: perennial crops fell by 8.37%, while live animals and animal products increased by 1%.
The largest annual increase among the reported subgroups was 61.07% for vegetables, melons, roots and tubers. Tropical and subtropical fruit recorded a 14.69% monthly decline.
The index measures prices received by agricultural producers, rather than prices paid by consumers at shops. Transport, processing, storage and retail costs are separate stages. A fall in the aggregate producer index therefore does not mean that every agricultural product or supermarket price fell by the same percentage.
