ANKARA — Türkiye’s wheat harvest is forecast to increase by 37.9% to approximately 24.8 million tonnes in 2026, according to the second crop-production estimate published by the Turkish Statistical Institute on 23 October. The estimates are prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Total cereal production is projected to rise by 30.9% to 44.8 million tonnes. Barley output is expected to reach 10 million tonnes, up 66.7%, while maize production is forecast to decline by 4.7% to 8.1 million tonnes.
Vegetable output is expected to fall by 0.8% to 33 million tonnes. The broader fruit, beverage and spice-crop group is projected to increase by 60.8% to 31.5 million tonnes, with substantial differences between individual crops.
These are estimates rather than final harvest results. Changes in production volumes do not, by themselves, predict retail food prices or individual farmers’ earnings. The next release is scheduled for 25 December 2026.
