The International Monetary Fund’s October 2026 World Economic Outlook projects global growth of 3.1% this year and 3.4% in 2027. Global headline inflation is forecast at 4.7% in 2026 before easing to 4.1% next year.
The report identifies conflict escalation, renewed trade tensions and fiscal vulnerabilities among the downside risks. Stronger artificial-intelligence investment and productivity gains could support a more favourable outcome.
The projections use information available through 1 October 2026. They are forecasts, rather than completed annual results, and do not imply that every economy or export market will grow at the same pace.
For Turkish businesses, the global outlook provides a reference for assessing overseas demand and financing conditions. It does not establish a specific increase or decline in Türkiye’s exports. Sector-level orders, payment terms and energy and logistics costs remain separate indicators to monitor.
