Engineering, manufacturing and construction followed at 4.8%, while natural sciences, mathematics and statistics stood at 3%. Molecular biology and genetics had the highest rate among individual degree programmes, at 13.1%.
Germany accounted for 22% of emigrating graduates, followed by the United States at 16.9%, the United Kingdom at 10.5%, the Netherlands at 8.3% and Canada at 5.2%. These are destination shares among emigrants, not emigration rates for all graduates.
The study covers a defined cohort of Turkish citizens who completed undergraduate study in Türkiye and subsequently lived abroad long term; open and distance education are excluded. The figures describe observed migration, without establishing why individuals left.
